Talega Golf
One of the things that California is famous for, is some of the finest golf courses in the world. One of the most recent additions to the already impressive roster of California courses is the Talega Golf Course in San Clemente. This "must play" course features 4 tee boxes and challenging greens & fairways. With a total yardage of 6951 from the rear tee box, the Talega Golf Club will test players of all levels.
The course itself was carefully laid out by golf legend Fred Couples & Schmidt-Curley Designs Inc. This spectacular course showcases two entirely different "feels." The front nine holes are laid out with many holes running parallel to each other, whereas the back nice feature more of a "canyon feel." All of the holes are beautifully groomed and this emphasizes the Augusta white sand bunkers.
In order to challenge golfers of all levels, the Talega Golf Course features an array of holes that emphasize both the short and long game. Elevated tee boxes make for excellent drives and the bunkers and water hazards test a player's accuracy constantly. This course, completed in 2001, was nominated to Golf Digest's "Best New Public Courses" list in its first year.
